Whenever someone gets an interestingly looking present for their birthday, it is difficult to resist and not open it right away and see what’s inside the wrapping paper. The same goes for the two new casinos in Atlantic City that the public was so eager to enter as soon as possible. The casino officials understood this and they decided to surprise the casino lovers by opening their doors to everyone one day before the official opening was scheduled.
The two casinos that were much discussed in the past are the Hard Rock Atlantic City and the Ocean Resort Casino. The original date of opening was Thursday, but both of the casinos agreed that they want to do it as soon as possible and were allowed to open by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement on Wednesday. As soon as the authorization took place, the new guests started flowing into the casino.
The Hard Rock Casino, which is located in the building that was previously Trump Taj Mahal, started welcoming visitors on Wednesday at 3 pm. It did not take long for the other casino to follow up and only one hour later, Ocean Resort also opened their doors. Both Hard Rock and Ocean stated that the grand opening would take place as scheduled even though they started working one day before that.
Hard Rock, which will be a casino mostly revolving around music and musicians, plans a great launch party which will involve a lot of celebrities. Being a brand famously known worldwide for having items such as guitars to decorate the walls, one of the main events during the opening will be mass guitar-smashing which will take place at the Boardwalk. The weekend after the opening will welcome Pitbull and Carrie Underwood as the performers who will make the grand opening of the casinos even better. Furthermore, the fireworks are also a part of the great schedule that Hard Rock had planned for Thursday.
Sports Betting is the Key
The Ocean Resort will not offer so many exciting things during the opening, but they will have one thing that Hard Rock does not – sports betting. Although one part of the casino is still mainly under construction, William Hill US will offer the option to bet on sports on the first day. Ocean Resort partnered with William Hill in as soon as the law for sports betting settled a couple of weeks ago.
Hard Rock does not exclude the idea of sports betting completely, though. In fact, Jim Allen, a CEO of Hard Rock International, announced that Hard Rock did not plan to partner with other sports betting companies but planned to create a section of their own which will focus solely on this type of gambling and entertainment. The opening of two new casinos is welcomed by the many, but not all as the other seven venues struggled in the past to keep the businesses profitable. It remains to be seen how things will play out in the Atlantic City.
