Playtech Opens Two Live Casino Studio Facilities in the US

Shelly Schiff

Playtech is a gambling software company that has had a massive role in the rise of online gambling in the form we know it as today. They not only were among the first product developers in this sector, but they also pioneered live casino gaming.

That is right, Playtech is the entity behind the first-ever streaming dealer games, originating the concept in 2003 via a soft launch of one of its Asian-targeted platforms.

Now, they are breaking through to the US market and announced the launch of two high-tech US-based facilities in New Jersey and Michigan, from which they will provide live table games to those state’s residents.

Playtech is going live with these two studios in partnerships with bet365 in New Jersey and Parx Interactive in Michigan. Naturally, they are doing so after attaining the proper approval from New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement and the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

The move represents the company’s initial live casino offering in North America and a substantial step in Playtech’s US expansion.

The location of the Michigan facility is in Southfield, a city in Oakland County, a northern suburb of Detroit. As mentioned, Playtech will run this establishment in collaboration with Parx Interactive.

That is an established US online casino and sportsbook brand also active in Pennsylvania and is a gaming associate of the partner for the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians.

In New Jersey, Playtech’s live games will stream from a studio in Atlantic City. The world-renowned gambling hub will serve as the spot for Playtech’s live tables available to New Jerseyans via Bet365.

On behalf of this monumental event, The CEO of Playtech’s live casino section, Edo Haitin, stated:

“This is a landmark moment for the company and its US development. The launch of these two facilities marks a core step into bringing industry-leading live game standards to the North American market.”

Moreover, launching two high-tech live studios in two separate US states on the same day is something no other provider has pulled off.

Thus, this is an accomplishment the Playtech team can be most proud of and one that is unlikely to get repeated by other providers in the next couple of years.

Playtech’s Live Casino Offer

Even though most veteran players associate live table games with Evolution Gaming, Playtech is the world’s longest-running live game provider. It branched off into streaming games three years before Evolution, even though, globally, it now trails behind this industry behemoth.

Still, in terms of quality products offered, Playtech is competitive with Evolution. The company’s foray into unique table games and other streaming products began with Quantum Roulette, which hit online casinos in September 2019.

It delivers an engaging combination of innovative roulette gameplay and visual appeal rich in neon lights. The multipliers active in this game can boost a player’s stake five hundred times over.

Since its release, Quantum Roulette has struck a chord with most online games of chance connoisseurs, and it has managed to maintain among the top one hundred most-played games in the past two years.

A Brief Introduction To Playtech

Playtech got founded in 1999 by Teddy Sagi, an Israeli entrepreneur. It got birthed in Tartu, Estonia, but it now operates out of Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. The company launched its first gaming product in 2001, and since then, they have produced close to six hundred interactive games, available to residents of forty-seven countries.

During its two-decade existence, Playtech has worked with several top gambling brands. These include William Hill, Snai, Sisal, Ladbrokes, and the discussed Bet365. They have also acquired multiple slot developers over the years, like YoYo Games and QuickSpin.

In October 2021, Playtech got bought out by Aristocrat Leisure in a deal worth $3.7 billion. However, it still operates as a separate entity. The motivation for Aristocrat’s purchase of Playtech is the company’s B2B capabilities in the US and Europe.
