Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, and that means it is a subject of a never-ending change which is usually for the better but not exclusively. The year 2018 is now behind us and it was a real rollercoaster for the city – some won, others lost and that is not the case only for the players, but casinos as well. Let’s take a look at what are the most important changes that are likely to take place in 2019.
Renovation of Park MGM
Both the Strip and Vegas Downtown have several casinos which are under development. However, all of them are scheduled to start by 2020. One of the most popular and most expected is Park MGM which is currently undergoing renovation and many expect it to open its doors during 2019. What we know so far is that MGM invested more than $500 million dollars in it and expect it to shine brighter than it ever was.
Celebs in Vegas
Many of the celebrities like to stop in Vegas and even have a residency there. One of the most popular celebrities nowadays is Lady Gaga and her LADY GAGA ENIGMA residency is often connected to the opening of the Park MGM casino. Apart from her, several other celebrities have announced that they will stop by, some of the most popular being Cher, Aerosmith, and Robbie Williams.
WPT Final Tables Arrive
The World Poker tour has several announcements to make and one of them is connected to Las Vegas. Last spring, they announced that all televised final tables that begin with the 16th season onwards would be delayed. In fact, they would be played at The Luxor’s HyperX Esports Arena which is in Las Vegas. The first final table to be recorded in that way will take place on March 12 and it will be a WPT Gardens Championship.
Oakland Raiders Moving In?
The Raiders had a turbulent year behind them and it ended up with then not getting along with their home city. It seems that their games will move to Las Vegas as they made an announcement earlier this year. It all escalated when Oakland filed a lawsuit against the Raiders and the NFL. Although they are certain to move out of Oakland by 2020, some people believe that they will play a couple of games in 2019 as well. Some other possibilities for games include the AT&T Park which is located in San Francisco.
Conclusion
Las Vegas will continue to rock on and there are great things scheduled to happen in the new year. If you ever decide to visit this city during 2019, you are certainly going to get what you expect, and it will continue to be one of the best places for entertainment in the world.
